We all had those awkward years growing up. I look at 13 year olds now and they're so damn advanced! Heck..my cousins younger than 13 have instagram - which is just freaky right?! When I was 13 I still watched Hannah Montana, couldn't care less about boys and fashion was the last thing on my mind (unless Mary-Kate and Ashley flared jeans are considered fashionable). I was quite a dork I think. Eh, wouldn't change my childhood for the world though. But I mean..there are some things I wish I could have told my 13 year old self..

1. Don't worry about your teeth. Braces will have your back.
2. Chill out, you'll get a bra eventually. Just cause the other girls are wearing them doesn't mean you have to (yet). 
3. Don't even bother wearing heels - you can't walk in them. You look ridiculous. 
4. I hate to break it to you - but you will not end up becoming a popstar. (that photo is from my grade 7 yearbook ha :/)
5. Following on from point 4: Stop idolising Hannah Montana. Country fashion doesn't work when you live in a beachy town. 
6. Failing that test won't be the end of the world. Failing that grade 7 test won't mean you'll be doomed to a life where the failure on that test will be hanging over your head like a dark cloud. It means literally nothing. 
7. Start properly washing your face now!! Seriously your skin will thank you!!
8. Use that Maybelline cover up stick like it's your best friend. It covers everything and you won't have those giant exposed pimples which everyone's eyes get drawn to.
9. EAT AS MANY FRENCH FRIES AS YOU LIKE. Cause your metabolism is gonna slow down eventually so enjoy eating all those rubbish foods without putting on any weight. 
10. Please, smudge your eyeliner. Why did I think it was a good look drawing a thick black line? 
11. Don't listen to the other kids when they say you're too old to watch Lizzie McGuire. You're never too old to watch Lizzie McGuire. 
12. Popularity isn't everything. Don't worry that you don't hang with the "cool kids", they're really not that cool anyway. 
13. Treasure your beloved pink ipod and please don't take it on the lawn mower with you where it'll fall under the blade and get ripped to shreds. 
14. Don't grow up too quick. Enjoy being young. Keep on watching your disney shows. Don't be friends with the mean girls. Eat lots of junk food. Go bike riding with your brothers. Just enjoy not having to stress about the future. 

1. As you can see in the photos above the packaging is quite basic but hey, it smells good! I really do like the smell of it..not sure if that’s one of your requirements for a foundation but it is a nice touch. 
2. This product is designed to be an anti fatigue effect + radiant glow foundation, which is quite obvious by its tiny little sparkles throughout it. I’ve read many reviews where people have said that this foundation makes them look like Edward Cullen/a disco ball in the light but personally I haven’t found that. I agree with its claim that it is anti-fatigue and radiant glow.
3. This foundation easily blends in and one pump should be enough to do your whole face. It is buildable though – so if you’re going out after work then it would be easy enough to add another layer. 
4. It isn't expensive - $19.95. 

1. The staying power is pretty crummy. After about 5 hours I noticed it was starting to fade away.
2. The colour range. If you're a pale gal like me then there isn't many options. The colour "true ivory" is tad too dark sadly :( 
3. This foundation is best suited for dry or combination skin types so if you have oily skin then it may not work well

When it comes to make-up purchases I don't have many regrets. Usually before I purchase a product i'll look up some reviews to double check it's a decent product. Then sometimes..I just say 'screw it' and buy it so I can test it out for myself. Some of the items I mention may be your holy grail but personally i've found they just haven't worked for me.

1. Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara: I'm a big fan of Maybelline mascaras but the brush on this one is far to big for eyes. I could never do a complete mascara look with this alone cause it was too big to get to my littler lashes. It's great for adding volume to a pre-existing mascara but alone it didn't work for me.
2. They're Real Mascara: In my first ever post I compared this mascara to the Maybelline Falsies, you can read it here. I really should throw this out asap, it's all dried up and unusable. I won't buy this again as it didn't give any curl to my lashes and never gave off a "wow" effect. I adore the Roller Lash so i'd much prefer to buy that.
3. Bourjois Bronzer: I bought this due to seeing how many great reviews it had. Plus the packaging is great (who doesn't love chocolate?!). Upon reflection it isn't a great bronzer, it's barely pigmented and I have to swivel my brush for 30 seconds to actually get any product on the brush. I don't know if I got a bad batch :/ I'll probably use this bronzer up but it's not something i'll repurchase
4. M.A.C Mineralize Concealer: For $38 it isn't worth it, my holy grail concealer (collection lasting perfection) does a much better job for half the price. It wasn't bad but it just wasn't great. It didn't give enough coverage and the staying power wasn't fab.
5. Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in '28': It's odd because my other Kate Moss lipstick (107) is really good but this one just doesn't work for me. Firstly it isn't pigmented enough so it never applies evenly to the lips. Secondly it has crap staying power. After a few sips of coffee majority on the lipstick has transferred to the cup. 
6. W7 Eyeshadow Palettes in 'In the nude' & 'In the buff': These are obvious dupes for the Naked palettes. I saw them on ebay and thought "score!". After months of owning them I haven't used them much. Why? Cause they are barely pigmented and have terrible staying power. I'm going to bite the bullet soon and purchase the legitimate Naked palettes. Wouldn't recommend these AT ALL as they are shocking. I attempted to do swatches before to photograph but I couldn't get any photos due to not being able to get any of the colours on my arm to show up. Definitely won't be repurchasing and may just throw out.

I am all about them feel good movies. After a long day there is nothing I want more than to lie on the couch with a hot chocolate watching a romantic comedy. We all feel like that from time to time. Last night I was passionately describing my love for my favourite movie (About Time) and I realized I probably should write a post on feel good movies that are essential for crummy moods. I'm sure many of these movies you all have seen but if you haven't watched one (or haven't watched one in awhile) make sure to save it for one of "those" days ;)

1. About time
This is my absolute favourite move ever. Everything I walk away I feel uplifted and cheerful. It's about this guy Tim who can travel back in time within his own life which can have the potential to change his future. It's witty, romantic and uplifting. You see him leave home to move to London, meet his wife (Rachael McAdams - love her), and have kids. It's by the makers of Love Actually too! I feel like i'm explaining it terribly but you'll have to trust me when I say that this movie is 10/10. Go on, watch the trailer here :)

2. Love Actually
Love Actually was my favourite movie until About Time came about. I'd be super surprised if someone had never watched this. It's another movie where you walk about feeling uplifted and cheerful. My favourite story lines in this movie are: the president and natalie & jamie and aurelia.  It combines my three favourite things: christmas, a romantic-comedy and it's set in england! This movie will never get old and i'll watch it until i'm 80.

3. I Give It A Year
Another movie i'll explain terribly so i'll just pop the trailer here. I've watched this two times in the last month and i'd happily watch it again right now. It's another great romantic-comedy to cozy up on the couch for. If you're a Simon Baker fan (ahem, like myself..) then you need to watch this asap.

4. Clueless
We've all seen this right? Right? This movie is a classic.. I'd say it's the 'mean girls' of the 90's but a little less bitchy. It's a great quotable movie too. If you're looking for a movie to watch for a girls night in then I think this would be the perfect one. I still adore it. 

5. Bridget Jones' Diary 1 & 2
We can all relate to Bridget Jones in some way. I remember being in grade 5 going to the movies in school (we were watching the polar express) I longingly looked at the Bridget Jones movie poster wishing I was watching that instead. Of course I didn't watch a Bridget Jones movie until much later but even my grade 5 self preferred a romantic comedy. When I finally did watch it a few years later I loved it instantly. Both movies are just as good as the other. I guess this would be another great "girls night in" movie.. but go watch it right away if you haven't seen it already.

6. Frozen
How could I not mention Frozen! I mean I wasn't one of those girls who got utterly obsessed with it but I do really like it. Disney movies are always perfect because you don't have to think. They're always positive, cute and have nice endings.

7. Ferris Buelers Day Off
At the start of the year I watched Ferris Buelers Day Off with my friend who had never seen it before. As i've seen it 1000 times I couldn't control my laughter, and I embarrassing laughed majority of the movie. Anywaaaay this movie is a directed by the amazing John Hughes and is the optimal feel-good movie.

8. When Harry Met Sally
Made in 1989 and still a freaking amazing movie. It's another romantic-comedy (what a shock...not haha). Filled with many hilarious scenes and has a happy ending there is nothing you couldn't not like about it. This is a classic so it's imperative everyone watches it.

9. Beauty & The Beast
Yes...another disney movie. It's just so damn great. I always find this is my go-to movie for when i'm sick in bed. Disney movies are always to key to feeling happy after those tiring days.

When it comes to lipsticks M.A.C is the best. The lipstick counter always looks a little too inviting. It takes self control to walk away and tell myself "no Holly, you already have enough lipsticks.."

There are a few things I adore about M.A.C lipsticks: the variety, the finish, the staying power and the packaging. They just tick all the boxes for me. Out of these lipsticks the ones I use the most are Brave and Russian red. As i've mentioned in other posts 'Brave' is my go-to everyday lipstick that goes with every makeup look. 'Russian Red' is my idea of the perfect red lip shade - whenever i'm wearing a red lipstick there's a 90% chance that it's this.

I'm sure majority of you own a m.a.c lipstick but if you don't...go buy one cause you won't regret it. Compared to other bloggers my collection is teeny tiny. Would love to have a bigger collection though ;)

I'm Australian. I like Australia to a degree. It's just so damn far away from everywhere. I've been to the UK a few times and have enjoyed it thoroughly. If you're from the UK perhaps you'll be able to appreciate where you live a little more?  I know i'm jealous of where you live.

1. Waitrose/M&S - We have no supermarkets as nice as these ones. The first time I went into a waitrose I was in awe at how nice it was. I now follow the "overheard at waitrose" facebook page and it's absolutely hilarious. Grocery shopping at waitrose was a hoot (and yes i'm aware I sound like a middle aged mother ;) ).
2. The shopping - Zara, Topshop, Miss Selfridge etc - I spent waaay too much money on clothes. It's not my fault the shopping is so much better over there. I find the shops have more varieties, with styles I actually like. Now I do most of my shopping online due to lack of decent shops around me.
3. Hot chocolates - Hot chocolates are 100x better in the UK! The galaxy and options belgian hot chocolates were my favorite..so rich. My mum and I brought back like 5 bottles of hot chocolate haha.
4. Primark - My love for primark blossomed over time. Each visit I fell more and more in love with it. It's cheap..but the products are still of good quality. Whereas our cheap stores are cheap quality.
5. Walks in the country - I miss the fresh country air with it's faint smell of a fireplace. I'd feel so alive strolling down lanes with autumn leaves covering the ground. Take me baaack.
6. Squirrels - We don't get squirrels here and I think they're THE CUTEST THING EVER.
7. Transport - Our transport here is so crummy. Trains are rarely on time. They're slow. And to be brutally honest..they have a lot more 'rough' people on them.
8. Tyrells parsnip crisps - I had an unhealthy obsession with these. Was constantly on the hunt for them as they were sold barely anywhere. On my second last day in England I found a packet of them and it was like I struck gold. I was ecstatic. I bought three packets.
9. The accents -The english accent is so lovely.
10. It's so close to everywhere - 'i'm popping to paris for the weekend' is not such a crazy thing to say. Over here everywhere is soooo far away. I like how most places in the UK/Europe are 1-2 hours flight away. So civilized.

I stumbled upon her youtube channel a couple months ago and have been hooked. I just really like her techniques in applying make-up. She is also naturally gorgeous so I feel she's cheating cause she's going to still look gorgeous no matter what she does haha.

3. Carli Bybel

Carli is another really popular channel and it's because her make-up is always flawless. Whenever i'm going for a night out I like to look at some of her tutorials for inspiration. The gurl just rocks at make-up.

4. Chloe Morello

Love Chloe Morellos videos! She has a wide range of videos but the most prominent type are make-up tutorials. I like how she doesn't always do 'dramatic looks' but does a variety of dramatic and everyday. Her tutorials are very easy to follow with some great tips.

5. Dope2111

If you haven't seen what this girl can do with make-up then check out her channel asap! Am constantly blown away with all her make-up transformations. She's even transformed into Drake! It's just amazing to see how make-up can completely change the face of your shape.

6. Themakeupchair
 Have only discovered this irish youtuber recently but already she's one of my favourites. Although I adore watching elaborate make-up tutorials I also like to see more natural looks that you can wear on a daily basis.

7. Lily Pebbles

What I love about Lily Pebbles is how real she is. She is always 100% honest and I fully trust her opinion on products. While a lot of bloggers/youtubers get all caught up with the beauty world fads I find that Lily is great at keeping level headed and giving honest opinions. If Lily says it's good, then it's definitely good!

8. Viviannadoesmakeup

Anna is super chatty which I really like. She's another youtuber who is great at keeping it real. What I like about her and Lily Pebbles is that they don't always have the have that "glamorous facade" up. Vivianna does a lot of favourites videos, tutorials and vlogs which is a nice variety.

9. Essie Button 


Another popular blogger/youtuber is Essie and I think it's got something to do with her cute as a button personality. She does a lot of tutorials, favourites videos and many more.

10. Hannah Maggs

 I'm kind of cheating on this one because 99% of Hannah Maggs channel is vlogs..but I had to mention her because i'm obsessed with her channel. Hannah puts up weekly vlogs which follow the life of her, her husband and their little toddler around London. If you're into vlogs then you will absolutely adore these as they're so well made.
What is she best for? Her vlogs of course!
