These are the shows I have binged over the last few months, all of which I have recommended to anyone and everyone in real life. You know a series is good when you find yourself bringing it up in conversation just so you can get someone else into it.
BIG LITTLE LIES
Based off a book by Liane Moriarty this show is a dark comedy-drama miniseries comprising of seven episodes. It's cast is amazing featuring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley. It begins showing clips of police investigating a murder at a fundraiser trivia night, then it flashbacks a few weeks to the lives of three mothers. Their apparent perfect lives begin to unravel throughout the series and you're left with the lingering questions of who dies and who is the killer.
This is utterly binge-worthy, I finished this in three days which was pretty tame for a show with only 7 episodes. I'm now re-watching it just a week later cause I loved it so much (i'm forcing my mum to watch it). The story line is completely gripping and the final episode gives you all the answers you need. The soundtrack is probably the best part of it - for the last week i've just been listening to the soundtrack over and over.
Basically you need to watch this, I can't recommend it enough.
THE HANDMAIDS TALE
The Handmaids tale is based off a novel with the same name written by Margaret Atwood. It's not a show for the fainthearted, it deals with a concept that is quite disturbing and freaky. It's about in the near future fertility rates collapsing, so with the chaos in place a new strict religious government called "Gilead" comes into power to rule over the United States. Society is organized by power-hungry leaders along a new, militarized, hierarchical regime and newly-created social classes, in which women are brutally subjugated, and by law are not allowed to work, own property, control money, or read. Fertile women are taken from their families and forced to be handmaids for the ruling elite where they are subjected to ritualized rape by their male master in order to become pregnant and bear children for those men and their wives. The show follows a women who is determined to break out and be reunited with her family.
It sounds kinda messed, but it's actually a great show. It's very well done. If you like Black Mirror you would like this. I don't think this is a show for everyone but if you can handle things that are a little dark then you'll be fine.

WHITE GOLD
You know how it sucks that The Inbetweeners ended? WELL IT'S BACK. Well, kinda. White Gold features both the actors who play Jay and Simon - and their characters are pretty much the same. Plus you've got Ed Westwick a.k.a Chuck Bass who plays the lead guy. It's described as: the story of a double-glazing showroom in Essex in 1983, led by charismatic salesman Vincent who is smart, handsome and cocksure, he will happily break the rules if it guarantees a sale.
This is a true comedy. Only 6 episodes but each is filled with the same hilarious humour as The Inbetweeners. If you're looking for a laugh then start with this - it's the best. Plus..Ed Westwick is gorgeous despite his character being very narcissistic.
LOVE ISLAND
This is mainly aimed at those who never got on the bandwagon while it was hyped up. I know Love Island has come and gone on our screens but if you haven't seen it and want a huuge series to binge: this is it! Yes, it's slightly trash tv but who doesn't like a bit of trash every now and then? Personally I find trashy tv shows the best to watch when you want to switch off and get absorbed in another ridiculous world.
Love Island is basically where they chuck attractive singles in a house in a bid to pair up people and find true love, with the winners getting 50,000 pounds. It has about 50 episodes with each going for 40 minutes, so it's an excellent one to binge. I've recommended this to a few people and they've all loved it. I'm quite careful of who I recommend it to though as some people can get kinda judgey about watching trash tv haha.
LIAR
Okay, well there's only 3 episodes out so far but damn this is an addictive show. I'm watching week to week which SUCKS but after each episode finishes I can't wait for the next. It's only going to be a short series so this is a good one to watch if you don't have too much time but want to watch a show that gets straight to the point.
Liar is six part ITV drama which follows "Laura Nielson and Andrew Earlham, whose initial attraction leads to a date that has far-reaching consequences for the couple and their friends and families, as secrets and lies are revealed". It's titled Liar as you're trying to figure out who the Liar is. It definitely doesn't feel as straight forward as the usual drama series.
DOCTOR FOSTER
The last few days have been a haze. I've worked, but mentally..my mind has been on the latest season of Doctor Foster. How is it going to end? Will it all tie up nicely or will it end on a cliffhanger? Will Simon ever learn? These are just some of the questions I ask myself. It's a BBC drama with now two seasons each consisting of 5 episodes each. It's about Gemma Foster who discovers her husband is having an affair..and through it more secrets are revealed and she tries to get her revenge. It's addictive and so worth the watch.
